July 1 Prior to his surgery, Don had an MRI done with these "dots" or "lifesavers" glued to his head. They or their markers remained in place during the surgery. If the neurosurgeon wanted to call up the MRI images for a particular area from a particular angle, all he needed to do was touch a special stylus to the "lifesaver" and the computer would bring up the image. |

July 1 When Dr. Rachel Remen visited Don, she had the best suggestion on what to put in the holes of the "lifesavers": diamonds. I thought he could mount strips of foam rubber on them and do without a bicycle helmet. |
