Don was moved from the ICU to NCOR - the Neurological Close Observation wing of Moffet Hospital. Most of the "lifesavers" are gone, replaced by surgical dressing over the incision.
Later that evening, Don is feeling well enough to walk down to the eighth floor solarium to see an unusual sight: San Francisco's Fourth of July Fireworks on a perfectly crystal-clear night.
